Is Someone Coming to Get Me?

Described by BBC News as ‘what art should be, extraordinary, slightly tragic but fascinating as well’, this was a residency at Hastings Museum in collaboration with sociologist Kris Cohen. It recreated the 1996 Everest disaster continuously over 29 hours.

To celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the first ascent of Everest we were invited to Banff in Canada to restage ‘Is someone coming to get me?’, combining 1996 with the 1953 first ascent and the Coronation, in a public space in the Banff Centre. Two blogs documented and disseminated this work.
