Public Art Commissions at the Hub
Artefact have managed six new commissions by some
of the leading makers, product designers and photographers in the UK for
the new HUB gallery (Centre for Craft Design and Making), the largest
venue for the promotion of contemporary craft in the UK which opened in
October 2003 in Lincolnshire.
The commissions include gallery seating by Electric
Wig, a body of documentary photography by Peter Fraser and a 'room within
a room' by Sam Buxton using laser cut steel. Bookbinder Tracey Rowledge
and jeweller Ashi Marwaha have also produced work.
